Discontinuing Noteworthy Chapbooks Series

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that we are discontinuing the Noteworthy Chapbooks Series indefinitely. New Note Poetry will no longer be considering manuscripts for online publication, and we will no longer be hosting any chapbooks on our site.

From founder/editor Nathan Nicolau:

Dear Readers,

This decision was hard for me because my vision for New Note Poetry is as bold as the poets I publish. When I started New Note, my dream was to foster a brand worthy of the name "New Note." The Noteworthy Chapbook Series was going to be a focal point in my mission to "bring bold poetry into the modern world." However, due to a lack of sales, it is clear that the model I created was not sustainable. Understandable. Poetry is a niche market. Experimental poetry is even more. Online-only experimental poetry? Now that's a gamble. I still took that risk because I believe risks are how great art is created. Even though I've hit the end of the road with Noteworthy, I do not regret it. Mistakes are learning opportunities for me. I will be taking all I learned from this process and continue on.

Where do we go from here? New Note will continue to run the quarterly magazine, which I would like to focus all resources on. I still want to make New Note a brand of bold, unique, cutting-edge poetry, and it is evident from the magazine's success that I am heading in the right direction.

I want to thank everyone for their continued support. New Note Poetry is nothing without you readers and fellow poets. See you for the Summer 2022 issue!

I am sorry to say that New Note Poetry will be on hiatus starting today. I wish I had a more poetic way of expressing this sad news, but...
